To enhance your Proactor.ai experience and ensure accurate transcription and understanding, you can easily set the language for both the interface display and meeting transcription.
Here’s how to adjust these settings:
Steps to Set Language for Meetings
- Sign in Proactor.ai and click the Settings button on the left-hand sidebar to enter the settings page.
- Navigate to the Meeting Settings section, where you can configure language preferences.
1. Display & Output Language
The Display & Output Language controls the entire system interface and the language in which AI responses are delivered. This is the language you see in menus, buttons, and all AI-generated outputs, such as summaries, suggestions, and advice.
- How to use it: Choose the language you are most comfortable with or your native language, and changes will apply immediately. For example:
- If you’re an English speaker, set the Display & Output Language to English.
- If you speak Spanish, select Spanish for your system’s interface.
Note: This setting will remain in the language you’ve set even if participants in your meetings speak a different language.
2. Transcription Language
The Transcription Language is specifically for the transcription of the conversation content. This setting ensures the highest accuracy for transcriptions by matching the language of the speakers.
- How to use it: Adjust this setting to the language being spoken during the meeting. Only when the speaker uses a language other than your chosen Display & Output Language, we recommend you to switch the Transcription Language to match the speaker’s language.
- Practical Example:
- Your Proactor interface is set to English.
- You start a meeting or lecture where a participant speaks in Spanish.
- You have enabled real-time transcription and set the transcription language to Spanish.
- Result: The Proactor interface and all AI outputs remains in English. The real-time transcription displays the speaker’s words in Spanish, which is more accurate after applying the changes.
Note: Changes apply immediately—even during ongoing meetings. This setting helps Proactor.ai understand and transcribe your conversation more accurately based on the spoken language.
When Do You Need to Change These Settings?
- Single-Language Scenario: If you are working in a single-language environment, your Display & Output Language and Transcription Language can be the same. For example, if both the system language and meeting content are in English, there is no need to change the transcription language.
- Multilingual Scenario: If you’re in a multilingual environment, it’s best to adjust your Transcription Language to the speaker’s language. This ensures accuracy in capturing what’s being said, while your Display & Output Language remains as your preferred language.
Tip: When you change the Transcription Language, the system will immediately apply the new language setting, enhancing the accuracy of AI-generated summaries and action items during the conversation.
